Taking a New Form

Hey everyone, long time no see. As you can see Behind Krystle Lane has been going through facelifts recently. Mainly because I am reorganizing my thoughts and goals for this blog of mine.

So here is a quick update on what is about to happen here. Recently the main activities happening in my life right now are Weight Loss (Thinspirational Journey), Dance, Cards, and uhm… thats it I guess… oh wait I’m into BENTO BOXES too! I’m learning the art of making those cute little boxed lunch as well. But I guess you can say my life is not so filled with activities. Well WRONG! Everything has been wonderful lately I couldn’t not ask for more… well maybe more cards.

So anyway, for this blog I’m going to focus on the new and upcoming deck designers that are popping out left and right in the Card-o-sphere. I’m still drafting the layout and the format in which the posts will be like, but maybe before the end of the week I will start posting some stuff.

Why am I doing this?

Because I’m a very very bored person,… Nah… just joking, (a little). I’m doing this because I have always been so curious about the people who design these beautiful 52 pieces of art. I think its about time the spotlights shine on the people who envision and design the cards. But like I said I need to ponder on it a little bit more in order for me to bring you guys the quality posts that will be interesting to read.  So that is it for now. Just stay tuned for more okay?

Pickings of Nature: Trip to Miyun

Hey everyone, its been a month since I last posted on Behind Krystle Lane. I have been very busy with Thinspirational Journey lately that I was not able to find the time to update this blog, plus nothing really INTERESTING is going on with my life beyond weight loss. But anyway I just wanted to share with you all something nice.

Last Wednesday we had a school trip to Miyun province to go fruit and vegetable picking. The parents tagged along too. I was able to practice photography using the School’s Canon camera. It was such a challenge because of the lighting of the area. I had a hard time adjusting the settings just to get the right exposure. I tried my best anyway.

This is teacher Kevin with Bibi. We got to sit at the very back of the bus. It was rather spacious and I was even able to practice some cardistry along the way.
Stopped for a bathroom break and stretched our legs a bit. The other students were even able to play around with bubbles.
Upon arrival at Miyun we had to walk about 5-10 minutes on this dirt road to get to the picking site. The children are to have partners so they don’t get separated. They are all really excited.
Despite have a rought start to our trip the parents were also have a blast. And of course took tons of photos of their children and their friends
It was not just the parents having a blast taking photos. We had our own mini photographer on site. Her name is Sunny. Her father is a professional photographer so of course what would any good father do? Give their child a nice DSLR to practice on while they are still young. ^-^
The other children are just exploring while waiting for the other people to arrive.
Father and daughter just goofing around while waiting for the go signal from the owners of the farm
This is Maria from my intermediate class. She said she loves strawberries and is trying to get all the ripe ones so she can stuff herself with yummy goodness.
The most beautiful strawberries I have ever seen in my entire life.
The tomatoes were huge. And very orange. I was lucky enough to get a photo of this one student from another class whose shirt is the same color as the fruits she is trying to pick.
That is David Lee, the children love him because he is such a big baby himself
They are posing for the camera of a parent but I managed to steal this shot from them. ^-^ I actually really like this one.

Tina is one of my fast learners in class, but she is also a very stubborn one. But I love them nonetheless. Oh and that is her twin sister Jana behind her.
And this is yours truely your Frustrated Photographer of the day. Trying hard not to get a whiff of an awful scent coming from the fields. It was really stinky outside the greenhouses. It smelled like rotting rats and dogs. (I did see a dead rat).
I hope you all enjoyed that. I will post part 2 next time.

Endless Possibilites

My sister and I are on a weight loss journey. Yes I have converted her to the dark side. 😛 I am into Thinspiration whilst she is on FitSpiration. Which is a very very good thing.

Anyway, Last March 30th my sis and I went to the GIANT park behind our condo complex and walked and ran and played and what not. Just had fun while burning the CARBS and FATS and CALORIES from our systems. It was fun and we plan to do it again.

this is my sister climbing up and down this “thing” in the exercise park. I took a photo while on the sit up bench and it turned out pretty okay.

I posted this photo on Jux as well so you really need to check it out.
If you are a photo blogger and you want a really good platform to showcase your photos in a beautiful way, JUX.COM is the place to go. ^_^

I’m Still Alive… Just Not So Active

I have not been updating much here because I have been very busy and preoccupied with Thinspirational Journey blogs. I have been getting back on track with “JOURNEY TO SKINNY 2012”

Spring time is here and its not that great of a season right now since its still that transitory period from winter to Spring. The winds are dreadful. I just wanted to drop by real quick here to let you all know that I am still very much alive and well.

I will try to post something either tonight or tomorrow morning on my list of things I want to buy… categorized of course. 😛

After Hour Stunts: Fame Monsters

if ya’ll read the previous post on our City Seekers Scavenger hunt, this is our AFTER HOURS. Where we all just got CRAZY and did a whole bunch of stupid things in public.

It started out as as punishment for the losing team of the scavenger hunt to do the losers cray then it basically just branched out to other stunts like pyramids and what nots. There were tons of people getting entertained by our stunts there. Even the people at the Canon EOS launch even were paying more attention to the kiddos than the actual event.

Oh and just a note. These were all take via iPad so it s a bit grainy. So I just placed some retro/vintage effects on it just to make the graininess work .

The losers have to crawl in between the legs of the winners

They are already having so much fun with just that, But little did they know that they will still be doing other crazy stunts in the Village for the public to enjoy. NOtice the cameras focused on them on the next photos.

They wanted to plank but I don’t think they knew how to really do it. but it was funny nonetheless

So these stunts that the kiddos did really attracted a ton of attention from the general public. I wonder if we came back again next friday if they will recognize us? I hope we don’t get in trouble. hahahaha!!!

Which is your favourite photo among these crazy stunts?

Mine was the Snailing.

Dizzying Amount on Online Sites

Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Blogger, WordPress, Facebook, this list goes on and on and on and is seemingly endless! The vast amount of online sites where you can express yourself is so overwhelming at times. I for one am having a bit of a hard time trying to figure out how I’m going to go about my online activities with the amount of websites there are.

This post is just to help me sort out where in the world wide web I’m in right now

Facebook

Blogs

WordPress

Tumblr

Blogger/Blogspot

Twitter

OTHERS

and loads of other sites that I can’t even remember anymore. Not to mention the forums I’m supposed to be in. Right now I’m only active in one because the others are not really interesting.

http://aethercards.com/discourse

Its a great site for card collectors

I remembered what my good friend Alex (moon.exe) said one time we were chatting. “I really need to place a separate bookmarks folder just for your 1000+ sites. ” well he didn’t say it exactly like that, but that was the gist of it.

So am I a W.W.W. hoarder?
Do any of you suffer from the same fate of having a lot of webpages/sites to update?
What would be a great way to minimize this sort of thing?

I’d really like to heard your thoughts.

Skype, Packing, and an Awesome SteamPunk Ring

Hey guys!
Just a little update on what has been happening.
As you all may or may not know. I am about to leave for Beijing, China and might be staying there indefinitely.  And as some of you heard, a lot of the blog sites and social media sites are not accesible there. But not to worry i have  a very quick fix to that.

So right now I am busy packing up stuff and whilst talking to my friends on Skype. Namely Josh Robinson and Alex (moon.exe)

They are some of my good friends in Aethercards.com forums. Alex is from Canada and Josh is from Australia, really silly bunch.
I love them all!

Anyway I hate packing up stuff for a long term trip due to the limit in luggage allowance. Cathay pacific is generous enough to let us economy passenger 20-25kg of checked-in luggage and 7kg carry on luggage. But I still have a dilema on how to pack my stuff.

here is a peak at my messy room and me trying to pack:

Figuring out how to fit makeup jewelry and cards into my make up box

Triumphant.... well not quite yet

So as you can see I’m no where near done and its really really stressing me out. But not to worry, being a human being of this century.. I’m pretty good at doing last minute packs ^_^

on the light side of things I just wanted to share to you what I bought at Trixie’s Fashion Gallery

A nice steam punk ring

So there you have it. That is basically what has been up. i’m sorry for the lack of intellectual words. I’m just really tired of thinking of how the hell I will tackle all these stuff. But I hope you had a semi great time reading this post anyway.

I Fail to Realize How Awesome My Friends Are

in just a few more day i will be Leaving for Beijing, China and of course, just like anyone, I wanted to hang out with my friends before I left. So Cheyse, Ashely and I scheduled a meet at the Mall of Asia. We had tons of fun even if just for a brief moment because Cheyse had to go and cover an event at SMX then go to the Balloon festival at Clark Pampanga.

Had some pizza and Pasta at the Aveneto Pizzeria and talked and talked… like what most girls do. And right after our heavy meal we went on to take outfit photos. I was so not ready for that though. 😦 but nonetheless I joined in on the fun.

Sometimes fail to realize how cool and awesome and beautiful my friends are. I am truly going to miss them when I leave. But rest assure I will be visiting them as often as my budget will permit it ^_^
